BMS Testing
The rising energy density of LIPO and LIFEPO Battery cells are opening a wide range of possible Applications. Wearable devices, consumer applications, portable tools, scooters and even cars are powered by rechargeable batteries.
Depending on the use case, different cell numbers and cell currents are needed. Additionally, a high number of load/unload cycles without degeneration must be guaranteed. To manage this, a form of high precision charge control is required.
In this workshop we present different types of Battery Management Systems (BMS). Starting with the technology of battery cells like LIPO or LIFEPO, we discuss the requirements of a Battery Management System to avoid overloading and to change between different charging modes. Afterwards we analyze different use models of Battery Management Systems from mobile tools to cars. Finally, we will present different test challenges, possible load board solutions and accuracy requirements of the test solution.
Additionally, the workshop provides:
▸ Access to Advantest domain experts
Agenda*
▸ Market segments utilizing Battery Management Systems
▸ Cell Technologies
▸ Why Balancing?
▸ End User Solutions
▸ Test Solution and V93000 Instruments
▸ Solutions for 80V, 120V, and above
▸ Example of hardware schematics on to load board
▸ Stability measurements on AVI64 and FVI16
*Agenda is subject to change prior to workshop session
